On May 30th, of 1947 the post was rededicated. Participation in the dedication service included: Rev. Fred Mumby, of the Methodist Church, Rev. Foley, of St. Marys, and Supervisors were Howard Reed and Lewis Oldenburg. State Commander Carl Ganschaw gave the dedication address and Post Commander Claude Casteel was in charge of the dedication service.

Installation of officers.

A joint installation of Unit and Post officers was held Tuesday evening, August 18th, at the Legion Hall.

Mrs. Ava Sisson of Clawson, intermediate Past Pres. of the 18th District was the installing officer and assisting on the Installation team were Past Presidents of the 18th District with Mrs Agnes Larson acting as Installing Sgt-at-arms.

Legion Post Officers were installed by the Ritual Team of Oakland County Voiture 811 of the 40 and 8.

Pres Wagner introduced and welcomed our guests Mrs Richard Baker and her daughter Judy. Judy Baker who was sponsored by the Auxiliary to attend Wolverine Girls State last June, had come to give her report to the members.

Judy gave a very interesting and detailed report of her stay there. She told about the picking of candidates and the forming of cities, counties etc and said she had learnt a lot about Government procedure. She said..

Miss Patricia Duffy, our Wolverine Girl Stater was guest at Potluck dinner. Patricia gave a very interesting and detailed report on her stay at Wolverine Girl State and said she was proud to receive 2 honors while there. Pat was elected Mayer of Gillman City and also received the County Outstanding Citizenship Award. After listening to Pat one could easily see why she had been presented these honors.

Our Girls Stater AnneMarie Costello, attended our meeting and told of her experiences at Girls State this year. She was attached to Hughes City Hall, was one of the girls who passed the Bar exam and was a Social Service Committee - person. She was grateful for the experience and learned a lot at the camp as well as making new firends and having fun.
