On January 14, 1944 eighteen women eligible to become members of an auxiliary met in the Legion hall for the purpose of organizing a unit. At this meeting the following officers were elected. President - Esther Cotton, 1st. Vice - Mary Burns, 2nd - Sadye Perry, Treasurer -Eileen Sult, Secretary - Vera Dever, Chaplain -Edith Conant, Historian - Celia boyle, Sgt-at-arms - Alma Brocklehurst.

The President of the 17th District Mrs. Hattie De Vriendt was present to assist in organizing and installed the new officers. Meetings were set for the third Tuesday of each month. 

Chairmen of Standing Committees: Publicity - Florence Porter, Americanism - Edith Conant, Poppy - Anne Risser, Pianist - Bessie Savory, Ways & Means - Mary Burns.
