The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 216, Ernest F. Oldenburg, Post 216 in Milford hosted the American Legion Junior Auxiliary Convention that was held Saturday, April 5th and Sunday, April 6th. 25 junior members spent the night in the hall, with adult chaperones, on Saturday night preparing for their Convention the following morning. When the juniors arrived Saturday evening, they prepared their air mattresses for the night stay, connected with friends from different units, and began to prepare for the meeting Sunday morning. Dinner was served by the Sons of the American Legion.

This Convention is when they have their elections for their junior officers, hold a memorial service for any member that had past, a graduation Ceremony for any junior that turned 18, and would become a senior member. Members were from Grand Rapids, Cedar Springs, Milford, Oxford, and Clarkston units. Words of wisdom were given to the juniors by the American Legion Department Commander Ray Moore, American Legion Auxiliary Department 1st Vice Nancy Knox, and Sons of the American Legion Department Detachment Commander Mike Boughner.

Election and the installation into office were held. Officers for the 2014 – 2015 are as follows: Ciara Brown – Honorary Department Junior President, 1st Vice: Taylor Townes – 2nd Vice, Stephanie Ramos – Secretary, Emma Damouth – Chaplain, Taylor Houghton – Historian, Leah Daniels – Sergeant at Arms, Shauntia Martin - Asst. Sergeant at Arms, Alyssa Kemp – Americanism Chairman, Alyssa Champion - Distinguish Guest Chairperson, Mackenzie Townes – Music Chairperson, Aleigha Houghton and Sarah Miller – Color Bears, and Emily Terhune – Teller.
