In July 8, 1919, military veterans in Bend, Oregon applied for their temporary charter into the American Legion. The American Legion post in Bend would be originally named Percy A. Stevens Post 4. In November 1920, Post 4 applied for its permanent charter. The members of Percy A. Stevens Post 4 submitted the paperwork. The officers submitting the application for the permanent charter were Commander: L. W. Gatchell, Adjutant: Earl B. Houston, Treasurer: Frank R. Prince, Employment Officer: Chas W. Erskine, and Historian: henry Fowler. Thank you the American Legion National Headquarters for a copy of the application for the permanent charter.

The 2016 class worked on various real life scenarios to fix into solutions. Additionally, the class developed and presented various resolutions at the mock Department convention.

On August 19, Stevens-Chute Post 4 Commander William Chan was elected as President of the National American Legion College Alumni Association (NALCAA) President. Stevens-Chute Post 4 Adjutant Lara Chan was elected as Public Relations Officer. Both were nominated and elected at the National American Legion College Executive meeting within The Atlantis Hotel and Casino in Reno, Nevada.
