On April 4, 2017, 2016 Oregon Boys State citizen Eugene Martin earned the title of Eagle Scout. Eugene, a Senior at Mountain View High School, Central Oregon Community College student, and member of the Oregon Army National Guard earned this most prestigious honor. A member of Boys Scout Troop 23, Eugene did his Eagle Scout project on creating video histories of Oregon Band of Brothers members. His video is on YouTube under Oregon Band of Brothers-Veterans History Drive. His Eagle Scout notice was in The Bulletin newspaper dated April 16, 2017. Eugene was sponsored to attend the 2016 Oregon Boys State session by Stevens-Chute Post 4.
