March 23-26, 2017, National Commander Charles "Charlie" Schmidt had his homecoming in Bend and Sisters, Oregon. Members of Stevens-Chute Post and Unit 4 assisted the National Commander's campaign team in welcoming the Commander home, getting newspaper (The Bulletin) and television (KTVZ NewsChannel 21) coverage, picking up out of state guests, and welcoming folks to Central Oregon. Additionally, Stevens-Chute family members participated in the National Commander's reception on March 25, Banquet on March 26, and visit to the High Desert Museum on March 25.
