On December 16, 2017, the 2017 Wreaths Across America took place in Bend. American Legion Stevens-Chute Post and Unit 4 worked with Boys Scout Troop 25, Oregon Band of Brothers, and members of the community to remember our Veterans and teach our youth. The ceremony took place at 9:00 AM Pacific time at First Presbyterian Church. The start time of the ceremony was to be done at the same time the wreath is placed at the Tomb of the Unknown Solider at Arlington National Cemetery. The ceremony included keynote speech from Oregon State Representative and candidate for Governor Dr. Knute Buehler. Members of both American Legion Stevens-Chute Post 4 and Boys Scout 25 placed service ceremonial wreathes during the program. Following the ceremony, everyone went to Greenwood Cemetery. At the cemetery, wreathes were placed at the grave-sites of local Veterans.
