During the Fall of 1919, those returning from WWI met to set up a local Legion Post. Twelve men attended the first meeting and the national Organization called for sixteen to receive a charter. Because of its helping organize the Kiwanis Club the Kiwanis became a supporter of the Posts programs and special events. They will be to the right of the bronze plaque which commemorates those from Seymour and surrounding area that served and those that died in service to our country during WWI.
