On November 4, 2015 the members of Post 106 held its annual Chicken Booyah & Chili Dinner to raise funds for its Legion baseball team. Over 225 Seymour area men, women and children enjoyed some of the areas finest booyah and chili. Several members prepare all the ingredients including cutting up the chickens for the booyah. Some ingredients are prepared the day before as the cooking process is an all-day affair. After more than a decade all the right equipment has been accumulated including special wooden paddles, stainless steel kettles, and the gas fired cookers made to order.

The feed is an annual ritual for several of the members and they take great joy from preparing the "best ever" chili and booyah. Ray Palubicki has assumed the role of "chief cook" and Jerry Hartlaben, Cliff Dembroski, Greg Goetz, Dick Debuhr, Vern Witthuhn rounded out the food preparation committee while others had the enviably task of running the dishwasher and cleaning pots and pans. Parents of the team members and players bussed the tables dispensed milk, coffee and water, reset places and made sure everyone got there dessert. Coach Jim Niespodzany supervised the entire process including helping with ticket sales. It was estimated we served over 50 carryouts.
