Post 106 of Seymour held its Veterans Day dinner and both Girls and Boys State delegates were special guests.The event began with a social hour followed by the evening program.Post Commander Greg Goetz began the program with a salute to the colors followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.A POW/MIA ceremony was conducted followed by a prayer and then dinner.Some of the auxiliary members prepared hot beef sandwiches and as the custom members and guests prepared something for a grand potluck dinner.
After dinner both the Post Commander and Unit President made brief remarks on the meaning of Veterans Day followed by a report of four of the five representatives to girls state. Those attending the dinner were Kiara Skenadore, Molly Russell, Sydney Wilcox and Sarah Spaude and Michaela Thurow was unable to attend the dinner
Before the boys reported on their experience a short promo video of the 2015 session was shown followed by remarks of four of our five delegates to Badger Boys State. The five boys in attendance were; Jerad Anderson, Nicholas Fameree, Jered Swenson, Ian Hanseter, and Seth Jefson who was unable to attend the dinner. Of the five boys. both Jarad Anderson and Nicholas Famaree will be legionnaires next year as both will be entering the marines upon graduation.Retiring Chairman of the Board of BBS Russ Hanseter presented each of the boys with an engraved Boys State Medal. This years group attending either program is the largest ever sponsored by Post and Auxiliary Unit.
