During the October meeting, it was decided to make a $15 down payment to the Reformed Church for their school house. The total amount offered for the school house was $190. This would eventually turn into the local American Legion hall, which still stands and operates in Menno.
The Matson Rames Post #152, with co-operation with the Legion Auxilliary, put on an Armistice Day program. Chaplain Rev. A.A. Bergland gave the address.
The Matson Rames Post #152 held a raffle to give away turkeys, ducks and geese starting on November 18th and continuing on the 19th, 25th, 26th, and 27th. November 18th and November 25th would also be family nights for fun and fundraising.

During the April meeting, the Matson Rames Post #152 decided to purchase a paper bailer, and pick up all the unwanted paper and magazines around town. It would bring in some extra money to help with the restoration of the Legion Hall, as well as be a good community service project around the town of Menno.

During the December meeting, Adjutant Reinhold Seydel was instructed to purchase two flags for each of the boys killed in action during WWII: Fred Ott and Wilmer Bender (which the post would be renamed after later). Also, a Gold Star certificate was to be procured for Calvin J. Hoff, also a casualty of WWII.

During the February meeting, the Rames-Bender Post #152 decided to have a drawing for $1. All members names were put in for the drawing. If the member wasn't present, the dollar was added to next month's drawing.

The Rames-Bender Post 152 assisted the Jaycees with their street dance by selling beer and drinks for them. Due to the rain and wind, the dance was moved to the Legion hall.
The Rames-Bender Post 152 held their annual 4th of July parade. There were over 60 entries in the parade and, afterwards, the Post held their annual Open House at the Legion Hall. Food was served and music was provided by the band, Dakota Wind. A raffle was held to raise money for the Post.

The Post assisted the funeral home in Bridgewater because there wasn't a Legion Post in Bridgewater. The Rames-Bender Post 152 held their annual Feather Bingo at the Legion hall. Prizes were hams and turkeys. Due to bad weather, attendence was poor.
The Rames-Bender Post 152 co-sponsored with the Legion Auxilliary a farewell party for 17 National Guard members who were being deployed to Iraq. The Post posted the colors, Gary Schelske (Chaplain) gave a prayer, Mrs. Shoppers of the Auxilliary gave a brief talk and introduction, and Darrell Mehlhaf introduced all the Guard members and their families. The Gideons presented New Testaments to the soldiers and cake was served.

The Rames-Bender Post 152 held a symposium at the Menno High School gym where classes were conducted on honoring the flag and its customs. The lecture was well received by those in attendance. Afterwards, the Legion conducted a Flag burning ceremony where unservicable and tattered flags were burned. The event was deemed very dignified and respectful.

The Rames-Bender Post 152 decided to hold the annual Soup and Sandwich Dinner on the same night as the annual Feather Bingo event. The turnout for the soup and sandwich dinner was outstanding and the money raised was successful. For the feather bingo, hams and turkeys were the prizes given out to the winners. There was a good audience and the event was a success.

The Rames-Bender Post 152 held the first annual pheasant hunt with the assistance of the Sioux Falls Veterans Hospital. Legionnaire Dan Auch provided the hunting land, the VA hospital brought the paralyzed veterans and the guns, and the Post furnished the supper in the Legion Hall. There were 40 hunters and pheasant drivers for the event. The event was a great success and another hunt was planned for next year.
