The Rames-Bender Post 152 hosted a special briefing for veterans and their spouses at the Legion hall. The briefing was sponsored by the South Dakota Legion Headquarters in Watertown. The briefing was given by Leginairre Aas from Watertown, Glenn Hartley from the Hutchinson County Courthouse and five speakers from the Veterans facility in Sioux Falls. Subjects covered were: Service connected medical problems, VA pensions, dependency compensation, burial rights and benefits, benefit-health-cemetery assistance, need for DD-214, health care categories, filing claims, military records, travel expenses, co-payments, long term care, income verification, and getting professional assistance in filing for claims. Forty people attended the briefing, making it very successful and helpful.
