What Makes this Post Unique

Our post thrives from community service and is predominatly Post 9/11 era veterans that are involved in a myriad of service organizations to include Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, Team Rubicon, Team Red White and Blue, The Mission Continues, and The Travis Manion Foundation. We pride ourselves on our diversity, inclusivity, and willingness to accept all individuals for who they are, and achieve our membership goals throug this. In the first year of Post 206 being created, it achieved the highest amount of new members in the state, the highest post goal percentage in the state, and also had the Department Membership Recruiter of the Year.

During a plaque dedication ceremony at the Queen Anne Seattle Housing Alliance, 1st District Vice Commander Jordan Houghton received the post charter for Post 206 from Commander Gary Roach, signifying the start of Post 206 officially. It was at this plaque dedication that we recognized the life of the many veterans that have been saved and served by the Seattle Housing Alliance

Post 206 was honored to have three of their members aid Magnolia Post 123 in their Summerfest Parade, leading the colors. Two of the Post 206 members hoisted the Ballard VFW colors as well, aiding in a joint-color guard. Marching the parade route, we represented the entirety of the 1st District of The American Legion, with our VFW comrades in hand!

On May 7th the officers for William C. Stacey Post 206 were elected! By large, all positions were contested and there were large alterations in terms of positions. However, every position was filled! The team is looking quite strong, and they intend to make a great difference in the post over the coming year!

Post 206 & The Mission Continues: D-Day 75th Anniversary Beach Cleanup

On June 8th, Post 206 joined forces with The Mission Continues Seattle 1st and 2nd Platoon to do a tactical breach onto the beaches of Washington. The effort and intent was to clean all the beaches on the coastal line for the anniversary of D-Day, also known as the day that Normandy Beach was stormed. The effort was completely successful with the massive team of both veterans, civilians, and activist.

On July 9th Commander Houghton escorted the Department Adjutant to the 13th District Commander of the Seattle Coast Guard bases Change of Command ceremony. This year, only one of our members was able to attend, but he effectively represented multiple organizations and did so with the intent of supporting the stemming of 22 Veteran suicides a day.
