During the 2019 year, Jordan Houghton, the Commander of William C. Stacey Post 206 was nominated and selected as the awardee of the Washington Governor's Volunteer Service Award for Veterans. This award was presented at the Washington Governor (Jay Inslee)'s mansion in Olympia, WA. Whilst among other awardees, Commander Houghton was able to learn of significant opportunities to aid in the community through volunteering with other civic initiatives. During the Seattle Mariner's Baseball game, Salute to Volunteer's, all volunteers that had been awarded were recognized at the beginning of the game, to include Commander Houghton.
