The formation meeting of the Post was held on July 9, 2016 at the Hickory Tavern, Indian Land, SC. The formation team submitted a temporary Charter the State Department of the American Legion on July 9. 2016 with 37 verified members. It was approved by the Department on July 9,2016.
The 2nd meeting of the Post was held October 2016 at the Del Webb Library. Jim Reese accepted Chairmanship of the Flag Committee. The Committee will be setting US Flags at the grave sites of Veterans this Veterans Day. Post 250 is planning to organize an American Legion Auxiliary in the near future. Guest Director of Veterans’ Services of South Carolina Melinda Woodhurst spoke on Veteran’s Rights giving information and offering to help Veterans to get these benefits.
The 4th meeting of the Post was held December 2016 at Rippington’s Restaurant in Waxhaw it was a social meeting celebrating the Holidays. Joan Tenney spoke on the formation of the Post 250 Auxiliary.
The 5th meeting of the Post was held January 2017 at our new meeting location, Cruzin Reubenz. The Post voted to sponsor one boy to Boys State, one youth to the Law Cadet Academy, two JROTC medals and all Eagle Scout medals. Commander Jerry Marcus announced a monthly program of speakers to address the membership. It was proposed and accepted that we have a method in place for contacting needy or sick veterans.
