From the minutes of the Corvallis American Legion Post. "On the night of November 16, 1937 seventeen ex-service men met at the Hall Drug Store for the purpose of finding out how many would be in favor of a post in Corvallis (Montana). All were in favor. Cards were mailed for another meeting to be held November 23, (1937) at the I.O.OF. Hall 8:00 pm."

Nov. 23 – This meeting held at I.O.O.F. Hall, 8:30 pm. George Rasmussen acting as Commander Earl Hall acting as Adjutant Dues were fixed at $3.50 per year and paid by all present. March 4, 1938 – Meeting opened at 9 p.m. Committee reported on show Financial Report Motion made seconded and approved to invite all women eligible for auxiliary to meet at next regular meeting March 18 for purpose of organizing auxiliary.
