Nearly 1,000 American Legion posts and departments have started Centennial Celebration profiles online since the campaign’s official rollout at the 2013 National Convention in Houston. The first post to start a page at the Centennial booth in the Exhibit Hall was Post 200 of Boiling Springs, S.C. (http://centennial.legion.org/south-carolina/post200). On the Post Index page of the site, 51 of the 55 American Legion departments are listed, meaning at least one post in that department has starting a profile page. Florida and Missouri are in the triple digits for the number of posts that have begun profiles. Both departments also already have their centennial committees up and running. Texas, South Dakota, New York and Minnesota are next on the list for the highest number of post profiles. The website has been designed so that a post can start a profile in five minutes or less, and then return to it to add information as they go deeper into their history. The Legacy & Vision booklet and Post History Workbook, developed by National Headquarters to aid posts in recovering their history, can be downloaded free of charge from the website, under the Tools section.
