What Makes this Post Unique
Our post was organized by all WWI veterans. We have all the history dating back to the first day of the post. We have discharge papers , death certificates original charters and many original pictures. First honor guard was formed in 1919 being called the minute men. There were 6 original members. The Minute men still exist today with 23 members doing Military Honors at funerals and marching in Parades and other functions.

A memorial service was held in the Church of God at which time the enlarged photos of the nine veterans of Shippensburg who were killed in action or died of disease were unveiled. They were: William Clyde Ashwell, William H. Durff, Oscar M. Hykes, Morrow Brown, Charles Newcomer, Robert Price, Willis Coleman, Calvin Lee Shoap, and John Smith.
A memorial service was held in the Church of God at which time the enlarged photos of the nine veterans of Shippensburg who were killed in action or died of disease were unveiled.
