Post Namesake
Parker County: In the year 1855 Jefferson Weatherford of Dallas, Texas was the representative in the State Senate from this district and Isaac Parker of Tarrant County in the Legislature.
A new county was organized lying immediately West of Tarrant and MR. Weatherford introduced a resolution naming the County Parker in honor of his friend. Then Mr. Parker made a motion that the County Seat be named Weatherford in honor of Senator Weatherford. Thus the names of Parker County and Weatherford were Established.

Officers installed, Appreciation Plaques Awarded, and Boys State Representative Report New officers of American Legion Post 163 were installed at a dinner at the legion home on Eureka Street Tuesday night by Bob Buchanan of Breckinridge, 17th District Vice Commander. His wife Dorothy Buchanan presided at the installation of the Auxiliary officers. Mrs. Buchanan is the Past 4th District Auxiliary president.
