We are honored to have Mary Ellen Guay as our Co-Grand Marshall with Lavern Thompson as these women have been pillars of our Societ and are constant reminders of the good our way of like can and has produced.
Mary Ellen was in the United States Navy: Yoemen 2nd Class - WWII, USNR; active duty in the W.A.V.E.S. 1945 thru 1946. She was married to James (Jim) Raymond Guay. They were the proud parents of Gregory James, James Arthur, Catherine Therese Chadwick, Michael David and Christopher Joseph.
Mary Ellen has been activiely engaged in many veteran and community support activities and has received several awards and letters of appreciation as Civil Servant of the year, 1979, Federal Business Association and Who's Who of American Women and was Toastmistress of the year 1975.
She has been a member of Parker County American Legion Post 163 since 1989 served as Commander 1991 thru 1993; held positions of Historian, Special Activities Public Relations; Children and Youth and Americanism.
She has been a member of many organizations in Parker County including Weatherford Chamber of Commerce and Parade Committee.
