American Legion (AL) Post #290 was getting a bit desperate. As an award winning Post with one of the fastest growing memberships in Tennessee, they needed more room to store the many items needed for their charity outreach efforts throughout the Hendersonville region.

Upon request for help, our local Lowe’s Asst. Mgr. Terry Tyson was quick to respond. On behalf of Lowe’s national, Tyson generously offered the AL an already assembled large metal building to meet their growing needs.

Nationwide Lowe’s has a pristine reputation for continuing to support active-service military members, veterans and military support groups in a variety of ways including their military discount policy for products in their stores. Post #290 is extremely grateful for their local support.

The American Legion is the largest military service organization in the world. Besides helping veterans and their families, the Legion supports national defense, supports Americanism and provides programs to help children and youth in their communities.

The AL is a family of organizations consisting of the Legion (for veterans), the Auxiliary (for female relatives of veterans) and the Son’s of the American Legion (for male descendants of veterans). Additionally the AL sponsors the AL Riders program for those who enjoy riding motorcycles.
