Coffee County Gold Star Mothers

We are Gold Star Post 78, a family oriented post serving Manchester, TN and the surrounding areas since 1920. As an organization moving forward, we provide you the opportunity to stay in touch with us and our mission from anywhere in the world through social media; website, facebook and our Post Calendar of events. We will provide you with information regarding the events we are involved with that benefit our community, and how you too can make a difference. We welcome all branches of military personnel: Active Duty, Guard, Reserve, Retired and honorably discharged veterans; all of those who are currently serving, and those who have served our Great Country during times of conflict. Our Auxiliary Unit and our Sons of the American Legion (SAL) Squadron also welcomes men and women who has had an immediate family member whose service time would have made them eligible for membership in the American Legion. The forth family member of our American Legion is the Post 78 American Legion Riders Chapter. To become eligible for the Riders you must first become a member of the Post 78 Legion, Auxiliary or Sons of the American Legion. The Auxiliary Unit is composed of women of all ages who are wives, mothers, daughters or granddaughters of eligible veterans who served in the U.S. military. While originally organized to assist The American Legion, the Auxiliary has achieved its own unique identity while working side-by-side with the veterans who belong to The American Legion. The Auxiliary embodies the spirit of America that has prevailed through war and peace. Sons of The American Legion is an organized program within The American Legion whose members include males of all ages that their parents or grandparents served in the U.S. military and were eligible for American Legion membership. Our American Legion Riders Chapter was organized in Oct 2009 to promote the aims and purpose of the American Legion. They serve as a family oriented motorcycling activity for members of The American Legion, The American Legion Auxiliary and The Sons of The American Legion. The Post 78 American Legion Riders received their charter in July 2010 and is currently the largest Riders Chapter in the state of Tennessee. The American Legion, The American Legion Riders, The American Legion Auxiliary and the Sons of The American Legion make up what is known as "The Legion Family". All four organizations place high importance on preserving our American traditions and values, improving the quality of life for our nation's children, caring for veterans and their families, and perhaps most importantly, teaching the fundamentals of good citizenship.
