The Pierre Area Referral Service organizes a "backpack" program for local youth in need. Backpacks are filled with food and given to the kids for meals to eat over the weekends. The number of backpacks given out numbers near 300... proving the need. Post 8 donated $1200 to PARS, with several Legionnaires individually kicking in some money, Post 8 has and always will be about helping veterans and kids.
