The 22nd meeting of the Post was held on June 12,2018, at Cruzin Reubenz. The guests for the evening were District 9 Commander Doc Sweet, Department Vice Commander Robin Rucker, Department Vice Commander Walt Richardson, The guest speaker was retired Army Col. Kevin Shwedo, Executive Director of the SC DMV. Mr. Shewdo touched on what has been happening at the DMV and the current US Military. South Carolina DMV is updating DMV ID to comply with Federal requirements and will start issuing them soon. He stressed the fact that only one percent of US citizens are serving in today's military. Current weapons systems have changed the role of the soldier in the ground. The new GI Bill offers a higher level of education to all who served.
District 9 Commander Doc Sweet presented pins for membership. Past Commander Jerry Marcus and Adjutant William Chick recieved 100% Post pins. Department Vice Commander Robin Rucker presented the Post's second 100% Membership Plaque. Department Vice Commander Walt Richardson presented a plaque of appreication for being Post 250 first Commander to Past Commander Jerry Marcus. Sam Barber reported that the VA satelite office is opening in Indian Land, Thursday July 19th from 9AM to 4 PM, by appoint only. Finance Officer Jack Goodison. re-presented he Post budget for 2018/2019 to the membership. Ways and Means Chairman Jack Clay reported that the next fund raiser would be at Cruzin Reubenz on July 17th, from 7 AM to 2 PM. serving breakfast and lunch. We will share in the profits of the day. Past Commander Jerry Marcus reported the American Legion provides each member with a $1000 free Life Insurance and if you are traveling on Legion business or going to a meeting with $5000 of Insurance. To receive the benefit every member must fill out a form and send it to the National Headquarters. Historian Deidre Hellion brought in our Post History Book detailing our history fron inception July 9th, 2016 through May 2018. The book will be at every meeting for viewing.
