The 21st meeting of the Post was held on May 8th 2018 at Cruzin Reubenz. Commander Jerry Marcus called on guest speaker SC Representative Brandon Newton who spoke about the closing of the Fairfield nuclear plant.  He also touched on College Truism and base closings.  He informed us that there are no sanctuary cities in South Carolina.

The next order of business was the election of Officers for the year 2018/2019.  Elected were Commander Richard Steininger; 1st Vice Commander Roger Phillips; 2nd Vice Commander Jim Reese; 3rd Vice Commander Larry Handeland; Finance Officer Jack Goodison; Chaplain Marvin Gallaway; Sgt at Arms Elizabeth Leagan; Adjutant William Chick; Historian Deidre Hellion; Service Officer Sam Barber; Judge Advocate Joel Mandell; Chairman Website Ruben Arecco; Chairman Food Bank James Northrup; Chairwoman Special Events Cynthia Wilshire; Chairwoman Sick Call Dollie Steele; Chairman Ways and Means Jack Clay.  SC Representative Brandon Newton installed the new Officers.

Joel Mandell annouced that the Sun City Honor our Veterans Club will hold a Memorial Day ceremony on May 28, 2018.  Auxillary Chapter 250 will be officiating and selling poppies that morning.  Sam Barber reported that there will be Memeorial Day program in Lancaster, SC Sunday, May 27,2018.

Jack Clay reported on the success of the pancake breakfast at HWY55.  Sam Barber also reported that there will be a Veterans Day ball for Lancaster County on November 10th.  Commander Jerry Marcus will place flags at Old Six Mile Cemeteryalong with the local DAR on May 21, 2018.  Walmart is donating some flags for the placement.

Adjutant William Chick and Chaplain Marvin Gallaway presented Good citizenship Certificates to two new Eagle Scouts  Nicholas Leon and Andrew Fetch of Troop 219.  On May 21,2018 the Post will present flags flown over our Nations Capital and Good Citizen Certificates to new Eagle Scouts Grey Reeves, Jackson Reeves, and Walker Reeves of Troop 305. These Eagle Scouts happen to be triplets.  On Monday May 21,2018 Post members are invited to the Town of Tega Cay to recognize our Boy Scout of the Year Ben Clish.

Vice Commander Roger Phillips presented the Past Commander Patch to Jerry Marcus.  Commander Marcus thanked all for helping to make the past two years a successful start for our new Post.

Adjutant William Chick read a thank you note from Major Pro Tem Tamara Green Garris of Lancaster for our participation at Post 31 for the Legion Riders Legacy Ride.

The budget for 2018/2019 was read to the membership and will be present again at the June meeting by incoming commander Richard Steininger.
