The present Post Home, Scherer Post # 493 of Jackson Center was constructed at 627 East College Street in 1967 by WW II, Korean and Vietnam Veterans.  Fifty years latter, a Roof and Window Campaign was under taken to replace the roof, windows and repaint the structure.  Within six months we had raised $ 31,000.00.  Airstream said they would match up to $ 30,000.00.  We had enough money to reroof the building with an Single Seam Roof, done by Walnut Creek Metal, Owned by Ray Yoder and the new windows were installed by Window and Door from Huntsville.  Bill Elsass will be repainting the building in the spring of 2018.  The Son's of The American Legion Detachment # 493 completely remodled the interior in 2012.  Without their support and hard work it would be a struggle.
