Lets have an American Legion Post in Jackson Center

Feb 21, 1921

After a group of WW I veterans returned from the war, they decided to charter an American Legion Post.  It was charted by 17 WW I Veterans.

The present Post Home, Scherer Post # 493 of Jackson Center was constructed at 627 East College Street in 1967 by WW II, Korean and Vietnam Veterans.  Fifty years latter, a Roof and Window Campaign was under taken to replace the roof, windows and repaint the structure.  Within six months we had raised $ 31,000.00.  Airstream said they would match up to $ 30,000.00.  We had enough money to reroof the building with an Single..
