Model 209. It is a two-blade, single engine attack helicopter manufactured by Bell Helicopter for service in the jungles of Vietnam. Engineers developed a system where the engine, transmission, and rotor system worked in mechanical unison with Bell's UH-1 Iroquois. The AH-1 is also referred to as the Huey Cobra or "snake".
