MEMBERS; Our capable cadre of officers lead by Commander Mike Morris is charting a course for great success. Our membership stands at more than 205 veterans and counting. Such a worthy accomplishment makes post 65 the largest of 7 posts in Iredell County. Since January 2018 our post population has grown by ten new members. The following is a list of our posts great accomplishments:  We have a new website and have been very active on facebook.  Burial flags were donated to Statesville and West Iredell schools for practice in rendering Military honors.  Donations and awards were provided to Statesville and West Iredell high school Jr ROTC units.  Honor Guard members performed at over 50 veteran funerals and related events.  Post 65 raised over $3,000 in the 2018 spring Raffle.  Our building was rented 19 times further augmented by a church which meets at our building twice a week.  We provided 28 Ipod Shuffles for veterans at the VA hospital in Salsbury NC. Post 65 now has wifi.  Technology training and assistance for any veteran is available at the post along with job training from Goodwill and NC works Veterans Job Placement . Contact Kent Phyfe at 860-234-8808 or at kent@kphyfe.com to schedule.  Receptacles were installed at the Post to improve safety, convenience and security.  New Vanities were installed in the restrooms and the floors were painted.  New lights were installed along the lower parking lot stairway.  We sponsored one student to the Student Trooper program.  Members, along with scouts, placed flags on the graves of veterans interred at New Salem UMC in honor of memorial day.  Post 65 provided games and an informational booth at the Arbor day celebration at the Statesville Soccer Complex.  The post entered a float in the Troutman independence day parade.  Our auxiliary raised over $800 during the memorial Day poppy drive.  The post had an informational booth and posted colors at the Relay for life event at Signal Hill mall.  As we look forward, we forsee a fun and very active Centennial Celebration.
