On April 12th at the Leonardsville Central School at 8 PM, a meeting of veterans was called to order by John Wilson as acting chairman. A motion was made by Roger Chase that the veterans present should form an American Legion Post in Leonardsville; motion seconded and carried. A second motion by Claude Barrell that John Wilson be made chairman of following meetings until officers were elected was seconded and carried. A third motion by Lloyd Crumb that the towns of Leonardsville, Brookfield, West Edmeston and the surrounding vicinity join together to form this post was seconded and carried. The Chair appointed Lloyd Crumb to invite the County Commander to the second meeting.
