Members of Post and Unit 70 joined Legionnaires from across NJ at St. Stephen’s Church in Kearny for a mass in honor of Father John Washington, one of the Four Chaplains, who left that parish to join the Army before losing his when the USATS Dorchester was sunk. St. Stephen’s is the Archdiocesan Sanctuary of the Four Chaplains and the service was attended by a large number of veterans’ groups and members of the families of two of the Four Chaplains.
