In 2005 Bar Chairman Harold Bottino (second from the right) began a holiday tradition whereby members and guests would “buy” a holiday ornament which they could personalize and which were then used as holiday decorations for the Post. All of the proceeds from these ornaments are then donated to a local charity or worthy cause. The Nutley Special Young Adults program was the beneficiary of these donations during the first few years. The organization is made up of one to two dozen special young adults, 21-years and older, with developmental disabilities. An assistant director, three technicians, and four volunteers help, along with a bus aide. The Arc of Essex County supervises the program.
