The big issues during this year was Anti Veteran organizations. The bitter Fight of Anti Veteran organizations trying to do away with Veterans benefits from the Federal Government reached a Climax. During this Administration and Commander Quakenbush did splendid work in combating these efforts in the county. The Anti Veteran movement started at Princeton University with an organization called "Veterans of Future Wars" Child welfare work was stressed with the able support of the Commander and the County was working on a plan to erect a dormitory at the "Kiddie Keepwell Camp at Metuchen when the establishment of the Federal Program E.R.A. which took over the plans made Legion action unnecessary. The Annual County Banquet was held at the Hotel Pines in Metuchen on April 22 1933.The speakers being Department Commander Joseph H. Edgar Motor Vehicle Commissioner Harold G. Hoffman and state senator John E. Toolan all Middlesex County Legionnaires. The Annual Convention was held at Milltown on August 12 1933 At cape May Department Convention County Chaplain Rev. Fredrick Halloran was Elected Department Chaplain American Legion
