Mrs. Alice M. Clemons of Helmetta was elected County President at Dunellen in June 1927 with Mrs. Elizabeth Ritchie ( now Department President) as First Vice President, Mrs. Louise Blakely
of Jamesburg as Second Vice President.
The Officers were installed by Past Department President Mrs. Lillian Ludlow.
One of the First accomplishments of the new administration was the adoption of strict Parliamentary Procedures and use of a Ritual. All meetings were well attended and great interest was shown throughout the County Those were the days of the "big feeds" especially in Sayreville, with "Mother" Unkel as hostess.
On September 27,1928 Mrs. Clemons reorganized the Metuchen Unit and Mrs. Nina Knapp, Department President installed the Officers.in February 1929,Joyce Kilmer Unit was organized, with Mrs. O.D. Oliphant, Past National President installing the Officers.
On October 25 1928 the County President and her Staff attended a gathering of Post and Unit at South Amboy for the purpose of Burning the Mortgage on the Legion Home.
Mrs. A.K. Stults was Elected Department Sergeant -at -Arms in 1928.
