Fugle-Hummer Post 65 is named after two Metuchen residents wounded 24th September 1919
One died on the Battlefield one died the next day at the First Aid Station.

The Permanent Charter was issued on 1st October 1920 from National Headquarters Indianapolis Indiana.

The Unit 65 Auxiliary received their Charter 7th Day of February 1921

The Squadron 65 received their Charter 8th Day of June 1955
