Memorial Day Flag Details

On the Saturday before Memorial Day members of Monmouth Post 54, their family, and their friends meet at the Maplewood Cemetery in Freehold to place flags on the veteran's graves. We want this to be a family event and members are encouraged to bring their children, no matter how young. What better way to teach them about the true reason for Memorial Day? After we are finished, a group photo is taken. You can see how the number of participants has grown over the years. Some of the children have grown and are now bringing their own children to help place the flags.
