Upon his return from deployment, Post 54 member Army Spc. William D. Madigan Jr., returned a post flag that he was given to keep with him during his eight month tour of duty in Afghanistan. The flag was presented to the post in a ceremony attended by a crowd of Freehold residents and Freehold's town council members Sharon Schutzer, Michael DiBenedetto, and Jaye Simms. This flag is now displayed on the wall inside the Post 54 home at 62 W. Main Street. Shown in this photo are; Commander John Rofulowitz, William's mother, Teresa Madigan, William Madigan Jr., and William Madigan Sr.
