The Department of NH held the first meeting of the American Legion  War Veterans on the fifth{5} of May in the Year of Our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Nineteen{1919}, at the first New Hampshire State Armory located at 60 Pleasant St in Manchester.  There was twenty-seven Veteran's from the Queen City, along with many others from Nashua, Laconia, Jaffrey, Woodsville, Andover, Peterborough, Concord and Portsmouth. They then proceeded to elect twelve(12) delegates to represent us at the American Legion first(1st) National (& Founding) Convention in Minneapolis, Minnesota in November of this same year.
