Claudia Goodin served as the State President of The American Legion Auxiliary (2011-2012). Her President's project raised over eleven thousand dollars for the Missouri USO. She has also served as the National Committee Woman for the National American Legion Auxiliary Organization. She has regularly volunteered in gift shops at the Missouri Veterans homes and VA facilities. She delivers gifts from Unit 5 to veterans at Jefferson City's local nursing homes and residential facilities. She also says that her experience with the American Legion Auxiliary not only helped her develop her leadership skills to be a successful leader in the world's largest women's patriotic organization but also helped give her confidence to be successful in her career.

Claudia has been actively involved in the American Legion Auxiliary for the last thirty plus years - focusing on serving veterans, active military and their families. She became the Unit #5 President in 1982 and served alongside her husband, Charley, who was Post 5 Commander. They were the first husband and wife team to serve in these roles at the same time. She also served on the Jefferson City Veterans Council, helping to raise funds for the memorial that is the center of the Veterans Plaza at the Jefferson City Police station.

Claudia retired in 2008 after working at Missouri Farm Bureau for thirty eight years. While there she had the opportunity to help implement a policy management software system, train other employees and work on membership drives. She says she has always felt that if you work hard and show loyalty to your company that you will be promoted and be successful.
