On Patriot Day (September 11) 2013, Pony Express Post 359 hosted the first Annual Saint Joseph Area National Day of Service and Remembrance. The event was organized by Saint Joseph VetCorps, a local group dedicated to eliminating the problem of homelessness in the veterans’ community and helping veterans get the support and benefits they have earned through their service to the nation, and by Post 359's Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation Committee.
