The American Legion in celebrating 100 years of existence asked all Legion Posts to have Centennial Celebrations & projects. Dick Munkres Post 287 in Savannah, Missouri sponsored the restoration of the Post's namesake grave site along with the Munkres Family Monument. The grave site is located at the Savannah Cemetery. The following pictures show the steps taken to restore the stones and monument. The work was done by Clinton I. Allen Monuments, Inc. of Maryville, Missouri. The project cost $1,600.
