• May 7, 2014
o Commander Barb Ebersole called Post 287 to order at 1900 hours. A quorum was established with 12 members present. Chaplain Stan Stubblefield gave the opening prayer.
o Guests Present:
 Jerome Goolsby, 4th District Commander
 Gloria Roberts, Navy Veteran and potential new member
 John Thory, potential new member
o Post Everlasting: Robert D. Wells
o Current Membership = 234
o New Business:
 Memorial Day planning updates- Legionnaire Brian Stackhouse, see attachment #4:
• Chaplain will be Methodist Minister Cindy Buhman
• Guest Speaker- not finalized at this time
• Savannah High School Band, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts will also be a part of the ceremony
• Hot dogs, chips and soda will be served after the event
• The traditional Time Table:
o 7 a.m. to put flags out at Cemetery and downtown, set-up equipment
o 8 a.m. ceremony practice
o 9 a.m. meet at Square
o 9:30 Parade start
 Kansas City Power & Light made a donation to the Post in memorial to Joseph Napier
o Guest Speaker District Commander Goolsby Comments:
 Reinforced the National & Department Membership Drives
 Invited the Post 287 membership to the upcoming June 4th District meeting. This meeting will have the nominations and elections of the 2014-2015 District Officers and Chairpersons
o Commander Ebersole adjourned the meeting at 1930 hours. Chaplain Stubblefield gave the closing prayer. The next meeting will be May 21st, at 1900 hours.
