o Commander Barb Ebersole called Post 287 to order at 1900 hours. A quorum was established with 14 members present. Adjutant Beasley gave the opening prayer.

o New Business:
 National Day of Prayer/Andrew County Ministerial Alliance- Post 287 has been invited to Post the Colors and play Taps. The event will be May 1st from 7-9 a.m. Volunteers needed.
 Poppy Days from May 22-24th, the Auxiliary has asked for Legionnaires to help hand-out Poppies and just be present at the booths. All funds from the Poppies go to help veterans and their families.
o For the Good of the American Legion
 Certificate of Appreciation was awarded to Marvin Harper for his help with the Andrew County Government Day
 County Government day had 159 in attendance. Post 287 is deeply grateful for the help from: Post 102, Barnard - Legionnaire Marvin Harper; Post 315, Burlington Junction – Legionnaires Marlin Slagle and Ron Petersen; Post 464, Conception Junction – Legionnaires James Bliley and Danny (Lefty) Simon, and Post 359, Saint Joseph – 4th District Commander Jerome Goolsby. From Post 287 were Herb Clizer, Stan Aspey, and Terry Beasley. The invaluable help from the other Posts freed up Post 287’s Honor Guard Team to do the military honors for our WWII veteran Joe Napier. The Auxiliary provided phenomenal support organizing the event and providing a lunch for the students, volunteers and court house staff!
o Commander Ebersole adjourned the meeting at 1920 hours. Adjutant Beasley gave the closing prayer. The next meeting will be April 16, at 1900 hours.

 SAL Mike Walter continues to make updates to the Post 287 website, www.amlegionpost287.org. Suggestions welcomed.
 Missouri has the National Oratorical winner for the second year in a row! Ashwath Kumar, a senior from David H. Hickman High School in Columbia, Missouri was sponsored by Herbert Williams American Legion Post 202. Check out his interview on legion.org. Mr. Kumar recognized the efforts of the local Post Legionnaires, who ran the County level Oratorical Contest for only 2 contestants just as professionally and energetically as at the National level.
