Steve Sullender) --- Debbie Williams was honored with a Certificate of Appreciation for all her help. --- 13 August- Legion Breakfast. --- 13 August- Cosby Parade at 5:30 p.m. --- Legionnaire Edner Rudolph has built a carrier/table to hold all our flags. --- American Legion Riders Dinner raised $354.80 towards the Legacy Run ***

Steve Sullender) --- American Legion Riders will donate $750.00 for the Legacy Run. --- October 29, 2011- Post 287 Halloween Costume Party put on by the Legion Riders. --- September 24th- Bikers for Babies Run. --- September 10th- Breakfast, and afterwards Freedom Rock Run. --- $210 motioned and given to Legionnaires Terry Beasley, John B. Miller, and Stan Stubblefield for the one-way mileage to this year’s National Convention in Minneapolis, Minnesota. ***

September 7, 2011 (Cmdr Barb Ebersole and Adj. Terry Beasley) --- 4th District Commander King inducted the 2011-2012 officers. The newly inducted officers assumed their meeting positions. --- Sons of the American Legion (SAL): Mark Brock reported their first meeting will be next Wednesday to develop the charter. SAL will prepare the spaghetti dinner, the first Wednesday in October. This year’s Boy State participants and their parents will be invited guests. --- American Legion Riders (ALR): They will be going to the Freedom Rock festival shortly after Saturday’s pancake breakfast. Bikers for Baby run will be September 24th. Halloween Costume party on October 29th. Commander Ebersole acknowledged the great $750 contribution made to the Legacy Run Foundation from the American Legion Riders. --- Volunteers needed for the following events: September 9th North Andrew High School Homecoming Parade. Stan, Edner, Billy & Terry will provide the Color Guard. October 7th Savannah High School Homecoming Parade. --- 1st Vice Commander Wilton Adkins briefed the membership on the need for Legion Auxiliary members as well. They play a major role in numerous community charities and other Legion organizational activities. ***

Terry Beasley) --- American Legion Riders (ALR) will cook for the National Commander’s visit on November 9th. --- Commander Ebersole will continue to provide event calendars via printed copies at each meeting, and or e-mailings. The event calendars are also updated onto the Post 287 My.legion internet site as well as the Post 287 Facebook page. --- Commander Ebersole announced she is retiring from Missouri Western State University in December. --- Please donate to the Toys for Tots drive and the Veteran’s Administration Christmas Shop. --- American Legion Riders purchased new pots and pans. Legionnaire Rudolph was recognized for making a kitchen hanging ceiling rack, as well as his flag storage cart. ---

October 5, 2011 (Cmdr Barb Ebersole and Adj. Terry Beasley) American Legion Riders (ALR)- report provided by Tim Williams: Thanks to the SAL with the help of the Legion Riders for providing the spaghetti dinner tonight. The Legion Riders will be doing the October & November breakfasts’. --- Sons of the American Legion (SAL)- report provided by Mark Brock: 76 people attended tonight’s dinner with $338.00 raised. The SAL also received a donation for $50.00 from John Rotterman on behalf of Fred Rotterman. --- October 10th (Monday) Columbus Day- place flags around the court house. --- November 11th, (Friday) – Veterans Day: Flag display around court house; Flag folding at area middle schools; Nursing Home visitations; and Senior Center Luncheon. --- Legion Auxiliary Dinner for Veteran’s will be November 14th. --- The front room flag display will be made complete with the addition of an American Legion Auxiliary flag in the near future. --- Legionnaire Kretzer shared that a Korean War Memorial has recently opened up in Kansas City. The location is at Washington Park, near Union Station. --- Legionnaires Rudolph and Kretzer recently donated volunteer time to for trimming, weed-eating, and mowing of Flanders Field and the flag placement holes along the main roads. ***

October 19, 2011 (Cmdr Barb Ebersole and Adj. Terry Beasley) --- American Legion Riders (ALR)- report by Tim Williams: An outside, stand-alone message marquee has been purchased for $200.00. Members of the ALR will install the equipment this Saturday. --- Sons of the American Legion (SAL)- report provided by Timmy Williams: The charter is still being developed. The group is over 20 members. The SAL is having a Chili/Ham n Bean dinner on December 3rd. --- National Commander Fang A. Wong Visit: G.I. Cleaning Party is being planned for November 5th. Gifts include: Pony Express Trophy from Commander Ebersole, Hand-made, wooden American Eagle from Legionnaire Stubblefield, and Commander Ebersole is also looking at a Pony Express necklace for Mrs. Wong. Auxiliary will also help with the meal. An ad will be placed in the Savannah Report to invite the public and take RSVP’s. Uniform of the Day for the Post Officers will be the Legion dark blue uniform with tie. --- Commander Ebersole personally donated $100 to help a veteran and his family in need. The veteran lives in Saint Joseph, Missouri, and is currently working in Savannah. Commander Ebersole has his phone number for any follow-up or further assistance. Donation money was approved to reimburse our Commander. Additional donation money was also collected. --- Legionnaire Tim Williams and Debbie Williams assisted a veteran just recently released for jail. The veteran was awaiting family members to give him a ride back to his home in Oklahoma. He was appreciative of the support. ***
