January 20, 2010 (Commander Lori Burns and Adj. Don Dillman) --- Tonight’s meeting is a joint meeting with the Auxiliary and Legion Riders. --- Post 287 is “Over-The Top” for 2010 with 247 members currently. --- A $1,000 donation was made to the Post 287 Auxiliary. --- Legion Riders- Legionnaire Craig Curnutt invited everyone to their 1st Ham & Bean dinner on 24 January at 1500 hours. --- 4th District 4 Chaplains Service- Post 287 will host the event this year. --- Sandy Curnutt invited everyone to the following events: Legion’s Birthday dinner to be held on March 8th at 1830 hours; County Government Day on April 8th; and State Government Day on April 13th. ***

February 3, 2010 (Commander Lori Burns and Adj. Don Dillman) --- Legionnaire Curnutt reported on the ham and beans dinner fund raiser for the Legion Riders. The event brought in $130.00 with half going to the Post. The next fund raiser will be a Chili Dinner on February 21 starting at 11:00 a.m. A Poker Run is planned for May. The Legion Riders will be working with the Combat Veteran’s Association. --- Finance Officer Jim Jones reported the Post received $581.00 from the Bob Dunn Family for updating the Memorial. --- The Post can work April 30th to May 2nd at the Rosecrans Air Show. An attempt will be made to find a tent. --- Armed Forces Day is on May 15th with a parade on the north side of the square. ***

April 7, 2010 (Commander Lori Burns and Adj. Don Dillman) - There will be a ride in May for the Combat Veterans Organization. The route will be from the Military Museum to Cameron. Another group will ride from Kearney to Cameron. --- Legionnaire Beasley reported that of the 8 applications received for this year’s Boys State, two were selected by the Post and one by the Savannah Lion’s Club for funding. The additional 5 applications will be forwarded to Boys State unfunded. ***

April 21, 2010- An estimate from Barnes Heating & Air Conditioning for replacing heating & cooling equipment was for $6,430.00 for the North Unit, and $4,991.00 for the South Unit. ***

May 5, 2010 (Commander Lori Burns and Adj. Don Dillman) --- There will be two pancake breakfasts in May. First one will be May 8th, the regularly scheduled day and time. Second one will be May 15th from 8-10 a.m. in conjunction with the Community Covenant Signing. ***

May 19, 2020 (Commander Lori Burns and Adj. Don Dillman) --- Legion Night at the Pizza Hut recorded an income of $200.00. --- Memorial Day Activities Planned: Commander Burns arranged for a guest speaker, Major Chuck Zigenfuss, from the Command and Staff College. High School Band will be in attendance. Boy and Girl Scouts will be represented. Flags will be placed out at 0600, uptown and cemetery. Hot dogs and chips will be served after the ceremony. --- Legionnaire Kretzer was thanked for all the work he has been doing at Flanders Field. --- Commander Burns attended the Truman Pilgrimage. ***

June 2, 2010 (Commander Lori Burns and Adj. Don Dillman) --- Legion Riders are planning a ride to Greenfield, Iowa for the Freedom Rock Festival on June 27th. The Riders will try to arrange vehicles to take others on the day trip. The Legion Riders will also have a pinning ceremony at the meeting on the 16th. --- Commander Burns informed the Post that 2 computers have been donated. The computers will come with Skype communication software installed. This will allow dependents with family stationed away from home to visit with loved ones. The Post is also working on a web page. ***
