THE FIRST LIFE MEMBERSHIP EVER TO BE PRESENTED BY DICK MUNKRES POST WAS GIVEN TO MR. HERMAN BREIT ON SEPTEMBER 8TH OF 1955. ***

The Post bought furniture at a sale of the old Chillicothe Business College. 90 chairs at $1.25 each, 1 desk at $58.00, 1 swivel chair at $28.00, and 4 walnut chairs at $11.00 each. ***

A block of dimes was held on the north side of the square in January for the polio drive. $318.00 was taken in. ***

Comrade Harry Duncan gave the Post $1,000.00 for the building fund. ***

A report showed we had $11,789.88 in the Memorial Building. The Post Blue Rock Team won the District Trophy for the third year so it is ours to keep. ***

The Savannah Lions club and the Savannah Chamber of Commerce offered to buy the floor for the upstairs of the Memorial Building and help put it down. ***

October 5, 1956- A motion was made that the Post buy and pay for insurance for the 1926 Model T Ford. This care is and will be deeded to Milton Clevenger’s name and will be for use only for Dick Munkres Post 287, for Post and Legion activities. ***

October 17, 1956- The first meeting was held in our new Memorial Building. ***
