We planned and hosted a Veterans Outreach Event, the first of its kind. Being in a rural are of southwest Mississippi, our Post members coordinated veteran-related services and organizations to come to Monticello for a 'one-stop shopping' event on benefits and information. Added to that, we were extremely grateful 2014 Miss Mississippi Jasmine Murray attended and supported the event. She was gracious in meeting and greeting not only veterans but local visitors who knew of her attendance. The Post received a good deal of feedback on the effort in spite of a cold, windy day outside.
