The American Legion Arthur and Leonard Falldin Post 555, 3141 Central Ave. N.E., held a Mortgage Burning Banquet on Nov. 1, 1958 to celebrate the final payment on an $85,000.00 club room. The charter for this Post was issued in 1946 and the present building begun in 1954. Mr. and Mrs. John Falldin were guests of honor along with many others, including Richard "Dick" Grant as master of ceremonies. With this "Burden" behind them, the members of Falldin 555 now pledge themselves and their resources towards increased activity in the promotion of more and bigger child welfare programs such as the midget and junior football teams sponsored and coached this Fall, and the basketball and skating teams currently being organized for this winter's activity.
