On June 10, 1999 an organizational meeting was held in Roscommon, Michigan at the Lion’s Club organized by the State of Michigan Revitalization Committee of the American Legion. That meeting was facilitated by some of the early members of the new Roscommon Post #96 and the meeting was conducted by NEC Al Ford and Field Service Officer Raymond Moore. Present from the State Headquarters and/or 10th District were: Al Ford (NEC & Revitalization Committee); Frank McDermand (10th District Mentor); Frank Galerno; Joe Guastella; Terrie Brewer (Department Service Officer) and Raymond Moore (Department Service Officer). The meeting was chaired by Al Ford.
