Organizational Meeting

On June 10, 1999 an organizational meeting was held in Roscommon, Michigan at the Lion’s Club organized by the State of Michigan Revitalization Committee of the American Legion. That meeting was facilitated by some of the early members of the new Roscommon Post #96 and the meeting was conducted by NEC Al Ford and Field Service Officer Raymond Moore. Post Constitution and By Laws approved by State Judge Advocate

Memorial Day 2016 Services at 5 Cemeteries & CRAF Center

Roscommon Post #96 and VFW Post #4159 performed our annual Memorial Day Services at 5 Cemeteries and the CRAF Center. A meal was held at the VFW hall afterwards.

Kirtland Warbler Festival Pancake Breakfast

Roscommon Post #96 was offered the opportunity to assist the Kirtland Warbler Festival with a Pancake Breakfast. The Festival was back in existence after a long absence and this was the second year. We tried this as a fundraiser but there was minimal attendance at our breakfast. Wreaths Across America National Remembrance Ceremony December 17, 2016

Roscommon Post #96 participated in this year Wreaths Across America National Remembrance Ceremony on December 17, 2016 for the first time. Based on the community involvement, our Post was able to honor 80 Veterans graves in several local cemeteries. The Post, though small in numbers, took this on as a Service Project and will continue this ceremony in years ahead based on our first year response from the community.
